11.85 M people received full doses of COVID-19 vaccine in Myanmar

A total of 11.85 million people have received two full doses of the COVID-19 vaccine in Myanmar as of November 30, according to the Ministry of Health (MOH).

Myanmar planned to provide COVID-19 vaccine to 36.9 million people, who are over the age of 18. A total of 11,858,598 (11.85 million) are fully vaccinated and 4,990,574 people (4.99 million) are vaccinated once. A total of 16,849,172 people have been vaccinated with more than 28 million jabs, according to the MOH.

Thirty-five percent of the country's population has been vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccine, which is expected to reach 50 percent by the end of this year and 70 percent by mid-2022.

Myanmar is provided COVID-19 vaccine for those over 55 years of age, and those over 45 will be vaccinated starting from October 17.

Target groups have been expanded to receive the COVID-19 vaccine since September 14, targeting people aged 55 and over, people with disabilities, members and family members of ethnic armed group, people from migrant groups and temporary camps, people with chronic and non-communicable diseases and is currently being extended to those over 45 years of age.

The COVID-19 vaccine has been available in Myanmar since January 2021.

The Ministry of Health urges people to receive the full dose of COVID-19 vaccine, those who received the first dose to visit the nearest immunization regimen on or near the scheduled date for the second immunization and actively participates in the immunization and immunization program.
