Out of 14 visa-free Asean countries, Thailand, Vietnam and Singapore have been the most attractive to Myanmar and the number of visitors is on the increase, according to Myanmar Tourism Federation.
More Myanmar people go to 14 Asean countries including Brunei and Cambodia that allow visa exemption. Among them, Thailand is on the top list, followed by Vietnam and Singapore.
"With visa exemption for the Asean countries, tourism industry has developed more. As we are free to go to those countries, tourism industry in the region has developed. In tourism sector it is also important for Myanmar people to be able to visit other countries," said a tourism entrepreneur.
Agreement on visa exemption has been reached among Asean countries.
