Myanmar to host Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia-2017

Myanmar will be hosting the Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia-2017, organized by Asian Hockey Federation. 

The event will be held at the Theinphyu Hockey Field in Yangon in November.

Myanmar Hockey Federation is now practising for international events including SEA Games.

Likewise, Myanmar has a chance to host Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia-2017 jointly organised by the Asian Hockey Federation.

“We have a chance to hold the Hockey Challenge Cup of Asia-2017. We are going to practise for the event because it is an Asian level tournament, and we try to do the best for our success. Moreover, we are going to prepare for the event after the SEA Games. We, Myanmar Hockey Team, are already among the World Hockey Federation. So, we need to participate in more hockey events to meet the international standards. We will compete not only in international tournaments, but also in Asian events,” said Saw Lu Lu Htaw, President of Myanmar Hockey Federation.

Myanmar has hosted Asia international level hockey events in 2009 and 2011.

Myanmar Hockey Federation formed a newly executive team last year, and the team is now trying to win with the added momentum for International events and 29th SEA Games to be held in Malaysia.
