With the the spirit of sports in their heart, the Ministry of Culture and ADMA media held the “SEA Games opening Activities Live Show and Comedy” at the National Theater in Yangon last Friday night.
The event was to motivate and encourage the athletes, as well as Myanmar citizens, for the upcoming 27th Southeast Asian Games which will be held in Myanmar this December.
“I am proud to participate in this event and I am the lead organizer of the opening song. The meaning of the song is to welcome everyone and to have good sportsmanship,” Takkkotho Le Le, Assistant Director from the Ministry of Information.
She added the song was composed by Myanmar Pyi Thein Tan, a veteran vocalist. It is about Myanmar by telling what a beautiful country it is and how friendly Myanmar people are. She said it is a wonderful occasion for Myanmar to host the games after 44 years.
Most musicians and artistes who joined the show told the Eleven Media that they will be supporting players who play fair and square in the games. The best players will bring home many gold medals. They wish Myanmar players to win most of the gold.
The 27th SEA games will begin on December 11, 2013 and about 33 types of games will be held. Myanmar government is planning to hold the games in Nay Pyi Taw, Yangon, Mandalay, Ngwehsaung and Chaungtha beaches.
