Ayeyarwady United FC sign three foreign players

Ayeyarwady United FC have signed three foreign players, including former Nay Pyi Taw FC Brazilian striker Leandro, in a bid to strengthen their side, according to reports.

Ayeyarwady did not extend the contract with three foreign players who played last season for the club. They invited new players for trials. The club tested four foreign players in the friendly match with TOT SC football club from Thailand and signed Slovenia midfielder Dominic. The club signed a one-year contract with Brazilian striker Leandro, midfielders Dominic and Sarmoto from Japan on December 27.

Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) only permits three foreign players from other continents and one player from Asia in the Myanmar National League for the 2013 season. Ayeyarwady are testing former Magway FC and Manawmye FC player Manesar and an Australian player for the only other place for a foreign player.

Leandro played for Nay Pyi Taw FC from 2010 to 2012. Ayeyarwady are targeting the MNL title for 2013 and are reinforcing the squad. Although their star goalkeeper Thiha Sithu has moved to Yatanarpon FC, they signed up Soe Kyaw Kyaw from Yatanarpon FC and Nyi Nyi Min and Htoo Kyaw from Manawmye FC. Ayeyarwady United FC will play MNL champions Yangon United FC for the Charity Shield on December 30. Ayeyarwady will be without the injured Tun Lin Aung and Min Min Thu.
