Myanmar U-23 team won second place in Alpine Cup

South Korean U-19 team won Alpine Cup by beating Bahrain 2-1 in the final day of the tournament. Myanmar U-23 team won second place after beating Thailand U-23 team 2-1.

 Myanmar team played with efforts to beat Thailand to win second place as the South Korean team won their match. Myanmar fielded its strong squad despite having injuries players. Striker Aung Thu scored the first goal in early minute and defender Zaw Min Tun headed second goal from a corner in sixth minutes. Thailand team scored a goal back in 30th minutes. The result was unchanged even though both teams created chances. Um Wongsang scored their first goal for South Korea in 51st minutes and they scored the winning goal in injury time. Hasan Jaafar equalized for the Bahrain in 71st minutes.

Myanmar won silver medal although Myanmar and Bahrain were tied on four points but Myanmar had scored more goals in the competition after they had the same goal difference.

South Korean won US$10,000 in cash as price money and the host team has been awarded US$5,000.
