Yangon United reaches to ASEAN zone semi-final

Host Yangon United beat Bali United of Indonesia 3-2 in a thrilling encounter match on April 11 and Myanmar club is reached into the ASEAN Zone semi-final in 2018 AFC Cup.

Yangon United is the first Myanmar club to reach the ASEAN Zone semi-final after the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) made changes in AFC Cup competition.

Yangon United made changes to their starting line-ups as they have many injured players. The host team struggled to have their good form in the first half and the away team scored two goals in 10 and 36 minutes. Maung Maung Lwin equalized before the interval. Yangon United equalized again on 58 minutes and it came from striker Emmanuel with his solo effort. The winning goal came in 73 minutes from another striker Sylla. Although Myanmar side has one more match to play in Group G, they advanced into the ASEAN Zone semi-final.
