Myanmar club Yangon Untied FC won their away match against Bali United in Indonesia in one of the opening matches of AFC Cup in 2018 that began on February 13.
Another Myanmar club, Shan United FC, lost at home to Home United from Singapore.
Yangon scored all three goals in a 24-minute interval from its two strikers: one from Emmanuel and two from Sylla. All goals came before the interval and the consolation goal for the home team came from Sukarja in added time. Although the home team tried to control the game in second half, the away team prevailed. Bali United was unable to convert a penalty to a goal in the 82nd minute.
Shan United lost 0-1 at home to Home United. Although Shan fielded its strongest squad, they didn’t show their good form. The home team had at least five clear chances in the match but they didn’t convert them into goals. The winning goal was scored in the 75th minute by midfielder Song.
Shan United will struggle to qualify for the next stage, and it is their third loss across all  competitions this season.
