The national Under-22 football team should produce goods results in this month's SEA Games since the players had been playing together for many years, says Zaw Zaw, president of the Myanmar Football Federation (MFF).

"The U-22 Myanmar football team players are not new. They have been training at the football academy since they were 11 or 12. They have been playing together for about a decade. They participated together in the U-20 World Cup. They also won a silver medal in the 2015 SEA Games. This is why I expect them to produce good results in the upcoming SEA Games," said Zaw Zaw.

After a series of friendlies, invitationals and qualifiers prior to the SEA Games, a final U-22 squad of 20 players was chosen on August 5.

Myanmar will kick off their SEA Games campaign against Singapore on August 14 before playing hosts Malaysia, Brunei and Laos in the same group. The Myanmar team is due to leave for Malaysia on August 11.
