Military chief visits Philippines to attend 14th ACDFIM

An army delegation led by Senior General Min Aung Hlaing, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services, left Yangon International Airport on May 16 to attend the 14th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces Informal Meeting (ACDFIM) held in Manila, Philippines, according to an announcement from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

The ACDFIM will be held from May 17 to 19 and the military chief will hold separate bilateral meetings with other ASEAN chiefs of defence forces, the announcement said.

The delegation was seen off at the Yangon International Airport by Commander of Yangon Command, Brig-Gen Thet Pon, senior military officers, Chargé d’Affaires of Philippines Embassy in Myanmar Stephnie Alexis A. Cruz and officials, the announcement said.

The delegation members include wife of the Senior General Kyu Kyu Hla and senior military officers from the Office of the Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services.

Senior General Min Aung Hlaing visited Germany and Australia from April 22 to 29.
