Suu Kyi meets Singapore senior minister

State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi met Singapore Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong at Thingaha Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on March 16. During his visit he has discussed tax evasion, corruption, boosting trade and investment, travel and tourism. 

He met President Htin Kyaw and discussed the importance of small- and medium-sized enterprises, the correct use of power meters, the leading role of private business and the elimination of bribery.

Minister Kyaw Tint Swe of the Ministry of the State Counsellor, National Security Adviser Thaung Tun, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Kyaw Tin and Robert Chua, Singapore’s ambassador to Myanmar, attended meetings. 

A memorandum of understanding was signed on the extension of the Singapore-Myanmar Vocational Training Institute. 

Dr Aye Myint, director-general of technical and vocational education and training at the Ministry of Education, and Chua signed the deal.
