Cooperation required for Rakhine State development and rule of law: Union Minister

Union Minister for Social welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye said at the meeting that for rule of law and development to be established in Rakhine State, public cooperation is needed.

He said these words at a meeting amongst social organizations, government representatives implementing development of socio-economic lives of Rakhine people, members of parliament, and ministerial officials held at Mingalar Thiri Hotel in Nay Pyi Taw on September 10.

“Among the implementing of processes, one thing we must set in stone is the development of Rakhine State. For the development of Rakhine State, cooperation of locals is essential,” said Union Minister Win Myat Aye.

He continued in saying that while waiting for the peace and stability to prevail in Rakhine State, development efforts are being poured in tandem.

In the two-day workshop, matters on education, health, transportation, electricity, investment and peace and stability, rule of law and order in Rakhine State will be discussed.

“The most important thing is the long lasting of stability in the region that will be free from conflicts. When the stability of the area gets destroyed, any developments we’ve managed to achieve will stop and will not be easy to go further,” he added.

“There are many things to discuss when we meet. When concerning the implementation process of things, there may be some delays. There are some challenges but we have to keep on discussing to overcome these obstacles and challenges .Gradually, we will be able to overcome these barriers and successfully implement what we desire,” he continued.

Re-accepting of those fleeing from Rakhine State will be done so in accord with the agreement made by Myanmar and Bangladesh. Myanmar is ready to re-accept those people fleeing from Myanmar.
