According to ethnic armed force(s) delegates, an informal meeting will be held at National Reconciliation and Peace Center (NRPC), Yangon on June 16 for a discussion concerning the date for 3rd meeting of the 21st Century Panglong Summit .
21st meeting of Peace Process Steering Team (PPST) formed with Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) signatories was held in Chiangmai on June 11 and the decisions made during that meeting were sent to the government.
At the letter, proposals of NCA signatories for holding the date for 3rd meeting of 21st Century Panglong Summit and related meetings were presented.
“When we were coordinating to set for the date earlier, we’ve earmarked June 30th. But, we need to do preparatory meetings ahead of 3rd meeting of 21st Century Panglong Summit. So, there is less time for preparations and so we changed the date. If that date is confirmed, we’ll go ahead,” said vice-chairman of Pa-O National Liberation Organization (PNLO) Khun Myint Tun.
PPST decided on topics not to be discussed in the summit, which are secession from Union, self-administrative rights and to draft State/Regions laws.
