President Win Myint to pay a State visit to Thailand

President Office released a statement on June 11 that President Win Myint will visit Thailand and he will attend two regional summits.
According to the invitation of Thailand Prime Minister, President Win Myint and first lady Cho Cho will pay a State visit to Thailand in near future.
During the visit, he will attend 8th Ayeyawaddy-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy Summit (ACMECS) and 9th Cambodia-Laos-Myanmar-Vietnam (CLMV) summit to be held in Bangkok. The summits are to be held in Thailand on June 15 and 16 respectively.
But no specific date has been announced of the visit, according to director-general of State Counselor’s Office Zaw Htay.
“We will announce the specific date of President’s visit to Thailand,” said Zaw Htay.
The trip is the second foreign trip for President Win Myint. His first foreign trip was the 32nd Asean Summit held in Singapore during April.
According to the data, Thailand investment in Myanmar till March 2018 is US $ 11.04 billion. It is about 14.53 percent of total foreign investment in Myanmar.
Thailand stood third after China and Singapore in Myanmar in investment sector. 
Myanmar is trading with neighbouring Thailand through border gates such as Myawaddy, Tacheleik, Kawthaung, Myeik, Htee Khee, Maw Taung and Mae Sae.
