The government will sign the Nationwide Ceasefire Agreement (NCA) with the New Mon State Party and Lahu Democratic Union at Myanmar International Convention Centre-II in Nay Pyi Taw on February 13.

The information was disclosed by Vice Chairman of the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre and Union Minister for State Counsellor's Office Kyaw Tint Swe during a work coordination meeting on the organising the ceremony to sign the NCA, held at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw on February 5.

"They are the first groups that have come to sign the NCA and walk along the peace road under the NLD (National League for Democracy) government. I also want to say that we are making continued efforts to get the remaining armed groups to sign the agreement and participate in the peace process," said the minister.

He added that the government has the responsibility to warmly welcome the New Mon State Party and Lahu Democratic Union and hold the NCA signing ceremony successfully.
