Tens of thousands of military supporters held a mass rally held in Maingdar Ground, Yangon Region on Sunday to denounce those attempting to break up the State’s defence and peace process.

The rally, organised by a pro-Tatmadaw group, was proceeded by entertainment, including youths of Kayin State performing traditional dances and songs.

The mass rally started with  salute to the State flag and singing national anthem. Those present took positions respectively.

“There may be those attempting to break up Myanma Tatmadaw and organisations like them. We want to denounce them. Those present at the mass rally numbered  about 200,000. We will keep on holding mass rallies denouncing those attempting to break up Tatmadaw,” ,” said organiser Ye Soe Aung.

“The Tatamadaw is not fighting ethnics. Only if the ethnic armed groups fight Tatmadaw, it will fight back. We stand by the Tatmadaw’s stance and acts.

Taikkyi Sayadaw U Zanita read out the message sent by nationalist Sayadaw Ashin Viseikta Vivamsa. Then Shinmataung Sayadaw said he supported Tatmadaw.

“We get to here because of being in favour of Tamadaw. Tatmadaw is protecting the life of the people. Tatmadaw is protecting us. Everyone needs to know this. We object to those blaming Tatmadaw. Only when Tatmadaw implements peace process, will we achieve peace. Those holding arms except Tatmadaw are rebels,”  at the rally said.
