An article was published on September 16 by the 7 Day News Journal as a cover story.

It was written by Aung Htet Paing and titled ‘Who will be the new Commander-in-Chief of Defense Services?’

The pseudonym Aung Htet Paing has never been seen in the 7 Day’s opinion pieces of politics and military.

Coincidently, the article was published at a time when the military held its regular meeting which is held once every four months.

I do not think I need to say about these things if the police, abiding the laws, uncover the perpetrators and puppeteers involved in the attack on Dr. Than Htut Aung’s life. Now, only a brief time after escaping an attempted murder, propagandist rumors aimed to discredit him and diminish the case were spread.

The election situation of Interim Myanmar Press Council was carried by The Standard Time daily issued on September 9 and concerned persons in MPC are going wrong as to this matter.

Experts have put their fingers on the negative impacts of the coal-fired power plants. In addition, local people have shown their oppositions to the projects. But some companies are trying to implement these projects in cooperation with the government.

Student protestors’ trial and challenges to justice

The trial of the student protestors at the Thayawady Township Court scheduled on September 1 is the15th time in the series. It is approaching six months since the protest column was dispersed brutally onMarch 10.

The proceeding is stuck at testifying the plaintiff Police Major Phone Myint, his 40-plus witnesses are leftto be summoned. The trial could span about three years at the current rate and it is yet to issue the indictment on the defenders.
