The Myanmar Music Festival 2017 will be held in four cities, Ooreedo Myanmar announced at its Yangon office on Monday.
Organised by the Ministry of Religious Affairs and Culture, the festival will comprise concerts at Myitkyina town hall in Kachin State on June 9, at Myanmar Convention Centre 2 in Nay Pyi Taw on June 11, at the National Theatre in Mandalay on June 13 and at the National Theatre in Yangon on June 18.
Each concert will feature performances of seven new songs composed by songwriters from the US, Peru, Taiwan and Myanmar.
The participating musicians are Sandar Lin, Sein Kalar, Sa Nyi Nyi Tun, Win Nanda Lwin, Sai Htet Aung, Yi-Ling Chaing, Kimball Gallagher, Kai-Yin Huang, Chalat Limpisiri and Yu-Wen Wang.
Music will be played on traditional Myanmar instruments as well as the drums, xylophone, piano, harp and violin.
The annual Myanmar Music Festival has been held since 2014.
