Art prizes presented at Bogyoke Market

Artist Maung Maung Thien giving a talk on drawing

In commemoration of the centennial of Myanmar’s drawing past, artist Maung Maung Thien of Pathein gave a talk on drawing at the Myanmar Artists Association headquarters in Bogyoke Market on May 28.

At the same time, a prize presentation ceremony was held for artist Zwe Yan Naing, who recently won a prize in Taiwan.

Artist Maung Maung Thien gave a talk titled “Yangon city - where artists meet and make art”. Those present then asked questions and discussed drawing. The Myanmar Artists Association said they are planning to hold this kind of talk show frequently.

Artist Zwe Yan Naing won the best art creation award at the Art Revolution Taipei 2017 held from April 14 to 17 in Taipei. About 15 Myanmar artists participated in the contest.

“I’m so amazed to know that I won a prize in which international artists are participating. It also encouraged me to go ahead with what I’m interested in. Above all, I’m honored to receive prize from the Myanmar Artists Association,” said Zwe Yang Naing.
