The fifth Human Rights Dignity Film Festival will open in Yangon on June 14.

The films will be screened at four cinemas, in Waziya, Nay Pyi Taw, Junction Square and Junction Maw Tin.

Some 35 works out of 50 are from local filmmakers, with 19 documentaries and 14 short movies.

During the festival, which ends on June 19, audiences can meet with and chat to the movie makers.

The Human Rights Dignity Film Festival was first held in 2013.

The awards to be handed out include the Aung San Suu Kyi Award, the Min Ko Naing Award and the March 13 Award.
