Movie about former political prisoner to be staged at HR Dignity Film Festival

A movie, named Burma Story, about Aung Pwint, a former political prisoner as well as a poet, is going to be staged at the Human Right and Dignity Film Festival which will be held on June 14 to 19.

The film was directed by Petr Lom and Cotinne Van Egeraat. Aung Pwint is now 70 years old.

The film tells the story of Aung Pwint’s life in prison and subsequent time in rehabilitation. It will also describe the artist’s life and the oppression he suffered by the military junta. It will also be staged at the One World International Human Rights Film Festival.

Festival Director Min Htin Ko Ko Gyi said: “We have chosen Burma Story to be staged as an opening movie of the HR and Dignity Film Festival. It is about the former political prisoner as well as a poet Aung Pwint. It was directed by two Dutch directors.”
