Thai Philharmonic Orchestra to stage concerts across Myanmar

The Thai Philharmonic Orchestra, based in Bangkok, will stage concerts in Yangon, Mandalay and Nay Pyi Taw from August 26 to 29

The orchestra will be led by chief conductor Maestro Gudni Emilsson of Tuebingen, Germany, along with pianist Oliver Kern of Hamburg, Germany.

Myanmar audiences will have a chance to see the 90 international musicians of the Thai Philharmonic Orchestra perform in Yangon onAugust 26 at the National Theatre at 7pm. The second concert will be held in Mandalay on August 27 at the National Theatre at 7pm. The final concert will be in Nay Pyi Taw on August 29 at 9:30pm at Myanmar International Convention Centre II. 

The programme is hosted by the Royal Thai Embassy, the Embassy of Germany in Myanmar and the Goethe-Institute Myanmar as a cultural exchange and friendship mission. The also commemorates the 70th anniversary of the  accession of King Bhumibol to the Thai throne and the 7th cycle birthday of Queen Sirikit of Thailand on 12 August 2016.
