People are being urged to sign a petition against Union Election Commission (UEC), said Myat Kyaw, a member of people movement network.
The network held a campaign which accuses the UEC of being biased.
“In 2010, the military leaders out of their uniforms formed a government. The UEC was founded in 2012. The chairperson of UEC is one of top leaders of the Union Solidarity and
Development Committee (USDP) and also a retired general. We are protesting because the upcoming national election will be fair only after the UEC is reorganised,” he said.
The campaign held at Dagon Seikkan Township criticised the UEC and the All Burma Students Union delivered a speech to protest against the proposed National Education bill.
