Thaton – Authorities seized smuggled medicines and beer kegs at Kyarpan checkpoint in Duyinseik Village, Thaton Township on September 4, sources said.

The authorities stopped a passenger bus at the checkpoint and found 3,750 AMOxIT-O-DRY bottles worth over K2.9 million, 385,000 Dimenhydrinate tablets worth over K3.4 million, 240,000 ASOBRON tablets worth over K876,000, 480,000 Chloroheniramine Maleate tablets worth K864,000, 160,000 Enpott Potassium Chloride tablets worth over K5.1 million, 490,000 Dexamethasone tablets worth over K3 million, 460 Chloramphenicol packets worth over K4.6 million, 384 Calglunate packets worth over K8 million, 38 kegs of Netherland made Key Keg international beer worth 5.7 million, according to police records.

“The driver and his helper confessed that the contraband goods are carried from Thantada bus station in Myawady and sent to Shweyadanar gate in Aungmingalar highway bus station,” said a police officer from Thudamawady police station.

The police lodged a complaint against the driver Ko Min and his helper Ye Kyaw under Section 8 of Export and Import Law and Section 18 of National Drug Law at the Thudamawady police station.
