The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) allowed Myanmar to host Group C of 2020 Tokyo Olympic Asia Zone Women qualifying stage (first round), sources said.

Myanmar Football Federation (MFF) requested the AFC to host the Group C and the AFC granted a permission to host the games. The matches are likely to be played in Mandalay as qualifying stage of Asia U-19 will be held in Yangon in October.

Myanmar women team is included in the group alongside India, Bangladesh and Nepal and is expected to reach to second round as they have lower rankings than Myanmar.

The MFF was hosted the first and second rounds in 2016 Rio Olympic qualifying stage at Mandalar Thiri Stadium in Mandalay. It was planning to host the matches in Mandalay as many audiences came to want the football matches in Mandalay.

The first round of the competition will be held in November and the Group C matches will be held from November 8 to 13. A total of 18 teams will be competed with four groups divided. Two top teams from each group and two best third-place teams will be qualified for second round. Myanmar women team is preparing to qualify for the third round of the competition.
