Russia Destroyer ship visits Myanmar

Destroyer  ‘Admiral Panteleev’, the flagship of Russia’s Pacific Ocean fleet, is here in Myanmar for a visit at the Thilawa Port.

The diplomatic trip, led by Read Admiral Eduard E. Mikhaylov, arrived on December 7 and has met with the top brass of Myanmar’s navy.

According to information from the Commander-in-Chief’s office as well as the Russian Embassy in Myanmar, representatives from both countries will be discussing nautical security issues, bilateral relations and other military matters.

The Admiral Panteleev is an ‘’Udaloy” class Destroyer been in service since 1988 and holds a crew capacity of 293. It is accompanied by ‘Boris Butoma’, a fleet oiler.

The ship have been to many countries such as Japan, Philippines, USA, Thailand, Indonesia amongst others for diplomatic visits.

It will be here at Thilawa until December 10 and will be open for public visit on the 9.
