North Oakkalapa General Hospital already upgraded into 1,500-bedded

YANGON - North Oakkalapa General Hospital with its 800-bed capacity is being upgraded into the 1500-bedded one, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
The proposed Master Plan, jointly drafted by the Ministry and Spiral Architects & Planners, was submitted at the meeting held in Nay Pyi Taw in the first week of July.

MIC allows gas-fired power plant in Mandalay


Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC) has allowed a company to implement a gas-fired power plant in Mandalay.

Kyaw Win Tun, Director of Directorate of Investment and Company Administration said: “It is the construction of a 230-KV power plant in Baelin village in Saingaing Township, Kyaukse District in Mandalay. The company will invest over US$ 92.68 million in the gas-fired power plant which can generate 145.49 megawatts and then sell power.”

Building collapse injures nine in Mandalay


Nine workers were injured in the collapse of an under-construction building in the compound of edible oil warehouse at industrial zone-2 in Pyigyidagun Township in Mandalay on the morning of September 11.

The steel columns of a two-storied new building collapsed when concrete was being poured into the first floor slab.

The Mandalay Region Chief Minister and officials from the Mandalay City Development Committee (MCDC) inspected the accident.

The Health Department has begun launching an investigation into the complaint lodged by the family of the patient about the patient that is suffering illness for many years due to surgical instrument left in the stomach.
In connection with the case, the family of the patient complained the president and departmental officials of this matter. One month later, the Divisional Medical Treatment Department made an inspection visit to Hinthada People’s Hospital.
