Suu Kyi meets Soros

Minister for foreign affairs Aung San Suu Kyi held talks with a delegation led by US billionaire, chairman of Soros Fund Management, George Soros at the ministry in Nay Pyi Taw

They discussed tax collectionbudget drafting, gem mining and exploration, the rehabilitation of drug addicts and reducing the danger of drugs and how to provide technical assistance

During her tour to the US last year, Suu Kyi held talks with the Hungarian-American business magnate, investor, philanthropist, political activist and author with an estimated net worth of US$24.9 billion, according to Forbes. 

Soros, who is one of 30 top world billionaires and founder of the Open Society Foundation, has made frequent visits to Myanmar and donated more than US$11 billion from 1979 to 2011.
