The Anti-corruption Commission received over 2,601 complaints in 2016, 320 of which concerned judicial affairs.
The complaints included corruption, incorrect management and administration, farmland, land grabbing, civil cases, criminal cases, judicial procedures, misuse of funds, departmental affairs, personal affairs and the unfair dismissal of cases.
There were 764 complaints about departmental affairs, 419 farmland cases, 541 concerning management and administration.
The commission received 93 complaints from Nay Pyi Taw, 28 from Kachin State, 5 from Kayah State, 26 from Kayin State, 19 from Chin State, 272 from Sagaing Region, 19 from Taninthayi Region, 307 from Bago Region, 85 from Magway Region, 453 from Mandalay Region, 134 from Mon State, 717 from Yangon Region, 41 from Rakhine State, 171 from Shan State and 291 from Ayeyawady Region.
Complaints made to the commission must contain proof that the case occurred after September 17, 2013, relevant documents and signatures, and the names and copies of the national registration card of the complainant. The commission has advised complainants to send letters to the commission directly.
