A meeting for the preparation of green economic policy and a drafting of a strategic framework occured on January 9th at the Hotel marble in Mandalay.
According to the MOU of the Environmental Conservation Department and the World Wide Fund for global environmental conservation, measures on management and utilization project on sustainability of natural resources have been carried out. Green economic policy and a strategic framework are part of this MOU, which aims to reduce environmental impact, for the harmonious development of living standard of people, to create job opportunities that are beneficial for the environment, and to ensure continuous, responsible development.
“The main issue for the green economic policy and strategic framework is to invite foreign investment for the economic development of our country - however - these foreign investments must be environmental friendly. Another important issue is manage the non green investment that already exists in the country,” said Sai Nay Win Myint from WWF-Myanmar.
