Four traffic accidents on Myawady-Kawkareik road kill three and injure eight

A total of four traffic accidents occurred on Myawady-Kawkareik road from September 5 to 10, killing three people and injuring eight, sources said.

A 12-wheeled truck carrying a backhoe on Myawady-Kawkareik road skidded out of control and turned over on September 10. The truck driver was killed on the spot.

The police lodged a complaint against the driver under Section 304 (a) of the Penal Code at Kawkareik Township police station.

In another traffic accident, a vehicle sped out of control and crashed into another vehicle parked at roadside near Kawkareik on Myawady-Kawkareik road killing its driver and another person and injuring two around midnight on September 5. Inspector Thein Naing Shwe, Sub-inspector Kyaw Zin Latt and policemen from No. 71 traffic police unit came to inspect the scene.

A high-speed van turned over at the downhill of Yinkwe Mountain on September 6 leaving its passengers injuries.

A vehicle crashed into a head on collision with another vehicle on the evening of September 8 causing six people injury including the driver.

Traffic accidents frequently occurred on Myawady-Kawkareik road due to ill-disciplined drivers and more than 1,000 vehicles are using the road daily.
