Nay Pyi Taw Council will take charge of managing K50,000 million allotted by the union government to implement a staff housing project in Nay Pyi Taw.

"The union government allotted K50,000 million for implementing a housing project for civil servants in Nay Pyi Taw," said council member Aung Myint Tun.

The government also allotted K44,266.899 million for regional development in the sectors of agriculture and livestock breeding, transport, education, health, industry, electricity, socio-economy and natural disaster prevention, he added.

Min Thu, member of Nay Pyi Taw Development Committee, said: "The project implementation will be taken charge of by the council, not our committee. Respective ministries submitted proposals for housing needs for civil servants."

He said after the budget approval, the committee would be responsible for seeking land for the housing project, paying land compensation and clearing forest lands.

Tenders will be invited depending on lot number to implement the staff housing project in coming 2018-2019 fiscal year.
