Budget earmarked for conservation of intangible cultural heritage elements

Mandalay Region government will draft a budget for the conservation of intangible cultural heritage elements, said Myat Thu, Mandalay Region Minister for Planning and Finance, at a meeting at the region government office on July 20.

Archaeological Research and National Museum Department is conducting a survey of intangible cultural heritage elements for conservation.

According to the list compiled last year, there are 53 intangible cultural heritage elements in the region. Some of them are in need of conservation.

The department plans to study 18 additional intangible cultural heritage elements this year.
