Phyu – A religious building that is more than 100 years old located at Kutinaryone Monastery in Nyaunglebin is needed preservation work due to recent quakes, sources said.
“The original building was donated by Daw Hpawt and her descendants but we cannot contact them now, so we want the government to give help to preserve heritage,” said the presiding monk of the monastery.
The building is used for accommodating monks was donated in 1905. It now has big cracks and is likely to suffer more damage.
“People who donate religious buildings will have the benefit of good health and will live a long and wealthy life in present time. They will have those benefits in their next lives and finally they will have everlasting benefits for their good deeds. I want to invite them to visit the monastery,” said the monk.
The building is 31 feet long, 31 feet wide and 36 feet high.
