FDA inspects highway restaurants

FDA officials inspect a highway eatery.
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has inspected the restaurants on the Yangon-Mandalay highway and taken food samples, sources said.
Samples were taken of cooking oil, chili powder and dried tea leaves, along with noodles, pickles and jam.
The FDA also visited the Central Institute of Civil Service (Lower Myanmar) in Phaunggyi in Yangon Region and inspected the kitchen and food stalls nearby.
The National Food Law brings a maximum sentence of three years for selling food unfit for consumption.
