Fresh medical graduates will be offered practical medical training while working at general hospitals, according to the Ministry of Health and Sports.
Previously young medical professionals were sent to rural areas directly after graduation. The ministry had introduced a plan in 2016 to teach new professionals the basics of general medicine through practical ways while giving them jobs at state and regional hospitals.
To that end, the ministry had called applicants for over 2,000 assistant doctor posts in June.
There were reportedly 1,722 vacant posts for MBBS graduates and 300 for dental surgery degree holders.
Fresh general practitioners would work and learn in turns at state and regional hospitals under the new plan.
The ministry said it employed over 100,000 staffers and spent Ks211 billion a year in salary.
