Thirty people have marched in protest against the Bago Region chief minister and the forestry minister on October 10, reports say.
They said the two ministers had made “no progress” since they took office.
Htun Aung Kyaw, a self-proclaimed activist for farmers’ affairs, said: “We are protesting against the chief minister and the ministers who are not doing their jobs. Former governments seized land and fields of Bago residents and haven’t returned them to rightful owners.”
He said the agricultural zone in three zones of Bago Region was not cultivated.
“When farmers tried to cultivate the land, cronies claimed it was their land and sued the farmers. If the cabinet members cannot solve the problem, we demand that they resign with dignity.”
Bago town has seen more than 20 demonstrations this year.
