A patient from Sarlingyi Township, Sagaing Region, has died from swine flu and another from Shwe Bo while the region had been put on a yellow-level alert, according to Monywa Township medical superintendent Dr Aye Nyein.
U Than from Sarlingyi died in Mandalay General Hospital and Khin Mya New from Shwe Bo was admitted to the hospital.
"These patients were never admitted to hospitals in Sagaing Region and went directly to Mandalay. There may be increase of numbers suffering H1N1 in Sagaing Region,” said Aye Nyein.
Aye Nyein called on people not to panic as there was plenty of medicine in the region.
