A new cineplex opens in Mandalay

JCGV Mandalay Cinema, a joint venture between Junction Cineplex and South Korea’s largest cinema operator CJ CGV, opened its doors in Mandalay on May 1.

Located on the first floor of Ocean Super Center at the corner of 73rd Street and Thazin Road in Chanmyathazi Township, the new cineplex consists of three mini theatres that screen both local and foreign films with five showtimes per day.

“Junction Cineplex and CJ Entertainment [CJ CGV] are planning to build over 20 cinemas across Myanmar. The first cinema has opened in Mandalay. As [the cinema] features three mini theaters, [moviegoers] can watch films of their choice,” said a spokesman of Junction Cineplex.

Its interior designed by famous Korean designers, the cinema boasts a high-quality sound system, digital projectors, and 3D systems. Junction Cineplex currently operates two cineplexes in Yangon and Nay Pyi Taw.
