Hip hop giants to play Yangon

Nelly, Grammy award winner, Soulja Boy, Grammy shortlisted American rapper, and CL, Korean pop singer, will appear at the UnDerDawg Festival in Yangon on June 12 in the Bhumi events park.

The performers will visit Shwedagon Pagoda and other places of interest. The festival was delayed from May because Nelly was unavailable.

Lee Chae-rin, better known by her stage name CL, is a South Korean songwriter and rapper. Born in Seoul, she spent much of her early years in Japan and France. She was a member of the girl group 2NE1. She is currently working on an English-language album.

2NE1 played in Myanmar in 2014 and has a large following.

Nelly, US rapper, songwriter, entrepreneur, investor and actor from St Louis, Missouri. Nelly joined Midwest hip-hop group St Lunatics in 1993 and went solo in 2000, with his debut album Country Grammar, of which the title track was a top 10 hit. The album topped the Billboard 200 chart and is still his best-selling album, selling over 8.4 million copies in the United States.

He had a supporting role in the 2005 remake of The Longest Yard with Adam Sandler and Chris Rock. He has two clothing lines: Vokal and Apple Bottoms.

Soulja Boy, is an American rapper, record producer, actor and entrepreneur. In September 2007, his debut single "Crank That (Soulja Boy)" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 in 2007. He was listed at 18 on the Forbes list of Hip-Hop Cash Kings of 2010 for earning US$7 million for that year.

Myanmar's Jauk Jet will also perform as a diplomat for the Helping Hands Project.
