A Myanmar documentary film titled “Border Boy” will be shown on the Inside Lens program, which spotlights remarkable Asian films, on NHK Channel on December 12. It was directed by Sein Hylan Tun.
“In the film, a young boy has a strong desire for learning. But, he lost a chance to study due to his family’s situation. So, he left for Thailand where he sought opportunities. This film will be broadcasted on the Inside Lens Program on NHK. I’m very happy that my film was selected by Inside Lens Program,” said Director Sein Hylan Tun.
In the first season of Inside Lens Program, Asian documentary films were shown. In the second season, only Japanese documentary movies were shown.
The first Myanmar-directed film to be shown on the Inside Lens program was a film about Mogok Ruby Land, directed by Shin Day Wei.
Border Boy is the second Myanmar film to have been selected.
