The Man Booker International 2016 award-winning book “The Vegetarian” by South Korean author Han Kang, which was translated by Thintlu in Myanmar, will be published in December by Ngadoh Sarpay publishing house.
The three-part drama was first published in 2007. Based on Kang's 1997 short story "The Fruit of My Woman", “The Vegetarian” is set in modern-day Seoul and tells the story of a home-maker, whose decision to stop eating meat after a nightmarish dream about human cruelty, leads to devastating consequences in her personal and family life.
It is translated from Korean into English by Deborah Smith.
