Myanmar Motion Picture Day will be celebrated on October 13 in conjunction with a respect-paying ceremony for elderly people from the film industry and a charity festival at Hninsigone Home for the Aged in Yangon, according to Myanmar Motion Picture Organization (MMPO).
All people from Myanmar's film industry are invited to the events and cash donations are also welcomed.
"As usual, we will organize Myanmar Motion Picture Day, a respect-paying ceremony and a charity food festival on October 13. Everyone is invited for donating cash and kind for the respect-paying ceremony. Myanmar Motion Picture Day falls on October 13 because Myanmar's film world emerged on that day. On October 13 we will meet together happily, pay respects to doyen artistes and eat foods at the charity festival," said Aye Kyu Lay, vice chairman of MMPO.
Academy award winning actress Eindra Kyaw Zin also said: "Elderly doyen artistes are indeed our teachers. We will also become old. We are very happy to have the chance to pay respects to them every year. If I am in Yangon, I always attend such events. It is a happy occasion for all those from the movie world." ၚ
