Female vocalists Mi Min Win Pe, Cornie, Tin Zaw Maw and Chaw Su Khin offered Waso robes at Shwe Pyi Thar Dhamma Gonyi monastery.

“We offered Waso robes at Shwe Pyi Thar Dhamma Gonyi monastery. As the place is far from downtown, we didn’t invite many guests to attend. We are very pleased to offer robes from a group comprising of many beloved singers. We have gained shared merits,” said vocalist Mi Min Win Pe.

The Waso Robe Offering Ceremony marks the beginning of the three-month Buddhist Lent in the month of Waso (June/July). This ceremony celebrates the Buddha's fist sermon, delivered forty-nine days after he attained nirvana. During the ceremony, monks are offered robes to wear during Lent, a time when they are not allowed to travel. No weddings, feasts, or festivals are celebrated during the Buddhist Lent, and people try to follow the Five Precepts more conscientiously.

“We are like sisters and usually hang out together. We set a date for offering robes,” said  Tin Zar Maw.

Vocalist Mi Min Win Pe will hold a one lady show at the Sky Star Hotel in August 25th in Yangon. She will sing more than 20 songs at the event. Vocalists Cornie, Tin Zaw Maw and Chaw Su Khin will also join her solo show. She will sing the best of best songs in her vocalist life.
