Movies chosen for coming Wathon Film Festival

Eleven films have been chosen for the upcoming Wathon Film Festival.
The festival has invited short films and documentaries for the film festival where 57 short films and documentaries have participated. The films chosen are “A Happy Place” directed by director Kaung Thaw Han and Farhan Hasan ZIko, “Silence in Mrauk Oo” directed by director Than Kyaw Htay “Scarecrow” directed by Yoat Yin Jabo team, “Whispers of Silence” directed by director Zaw Bo Bo Hein and Maung Bhone, “Void” directed by Maung Bpone, “Grandmother” directed by Shun Wint Aung and That Myat Wai, “Mother’s Burdern” directed by Cherry Thein, “The good woman of South Dagaon” directed by Win Thu Myo, “Yangon, the city where we live” directed by Shin Dewei, “Missing Puzzle” directed by Hein Z, and “Dreams on the road” directed by Soesan.
These films will be shown at the Film festival held in September and the best film will be awarded. The length of films is limited to 15 minutes for fiction, animation, experimental film or video art or 30 minutes for documentary film.
It was founded in 2011 with the aim of improving the standard of local cinema and creating a platform for Myanmar’s young generation of filmmakers. The film festival will be held from 5th to 10th September at Waziya cinema and Goethe Institute of Myanmar in Yangon.
