Vocalist Ni Ni Khin Zaw won second place at the Asean+3 Song Contest on Sunday, and singer Aung Htet won the Audience Award.
The Song Contest was organized by Voice of Vietnam to mark the 50th anniversary of ASEAN. It was the first music event for young, professional pop singers aged 18 to 35 from ASEAN countries.
The aim of the contest was to provide a venue for cultural exchange and promotion among ASEAN member countries, as well as Japan, the Republic of Korea and China, through music.
In the final round of the contest held on August 20, Ni Ni Khin Zaw performed a song written by Saung Oo Hlaing called “Hope.”
“Thank you everyone who supported me in the contest. My thanks also go out to song writer Saung Oo Hlaing and Saw Khu Se, music conductor Dhiyado, Myo Zaw Htet, constume designer Ma Pont – my favorite – and singer Aung Htet and my fans,” said Ni Ni Khin Zaw upon winning her second-place award.
