Tourism is the best business for development of Myanmar’s economy as it can create jobs and income for the people in a short time, says Vice President Myint Swe while he was meeting business people on April 10.

It’s a fifth formal meeting between the vice president and business people.

He suggested that interested businessmen and businesswomen should cooperate with the concerned ministry to make progress in the industry.

He also said that regular meetings with private business people are being held on a monthly basis and the challenges presented during these meeting are being dealt with.

The Vice President added that a seminar about frameworks and projects for development of the private sector was held on April 5 in Nay Pyi Taw. He said it was meant to see what the government can do for development of private businesses as it’s an important sector for the development of the country’s economy.

He said Myanmar enacted the new investment law on October 18 last year and a by-law for it was enacted on March 30 this year.

He added that this is the fifth meeting and 65 decisions were made during all these meetings.

54 of these decisions are being materialized in cooperation with the concerned authorities, ministries and working committees, the Vice President said.
