The Ministry of Commerce says export earnings increased by US$307 million until December 23 this fiscal year compared with the previous year.
The ministry said earnings from two of the seven major export categories, mining and industrial exports, saw a drop of US$817 million.
Exports totalled US$7.98 billion, with more than US$1.9 billion from agriculture, US$5 million from livestock, US$378 million from fisheries, US$718 million from mining, US$171 million from forestry goods, US$3.54 billion from industrial products and US$1.2 billion from other sources.
Industrial finished products also earned the most income in 2015, according to the ministry.
Exports depend heavily on natural resources such as gas, teak, farm and marine products. Laos is the only neighbouring country without border trade with Myanmar.
