According to the long-term foreign direct investments promotion plan, the inflows of total FDI reached over US$ six billion in 2017-2018 FY. But the actual inflow of FDI into the country amounted to US$ 4.3 billion, according to Myanmar Investment Commission (MIC), according to the MIC’s summary report for 2017-2018 FY.
From April 1, 2017 to March 31, 2018, the MIC held 16 meetings and allowed 222 new investments worth US$4,777.980 million and 82 additional investments worth US$940.106 million, totaling US$5,718.086 million.
In addition, the MIC allowed 12 foreign investments worth US$401.880 million for Thilawa Special Economic Zone Project. The total FDI hit US$6,119.966 million in 2017-2018 FY.
In 2017-2018 FY, the actual inflows of FDI from 28 countries reached US$4,340.736 million.
In 2017-2018 FY, the total citizen investments granted by the MIC reached over Ks3,978 billion.
