Myanmar exports 400 m cubic feet of natural gas daily to China

Myanmar is selling 400 million cubic feet of natural gas produced from Shwe offshore natural gas project to China daily, according to Ministry of Electricity and Energy.

Ministry of Electricity and Energy, Daewoo International Corporation, ONGC Videsh Limited, Gall (India) Ltd., Korea Gas Corporation and China National Oil Corporation signed an agreement to export natural gas produced from the Shwe offshore natural gas project to China on December 24 2008.

The ministry is distributing natural gas from the gas project for local use also as well as exporting 400 million cubic feet of natural gas to China daily.

Win Khaing, Union Minister for Electricity and Energy and Rakhine State Chief Minister Nyi Pu examined Block A1 and A3 in Shwe offshore natural gas project located in offshore of Rakhine on May 5.

According to statistics collected during June 2017, the gas project is producing up to 450 million cubic feet of natural gas daily.

According to statistics collected during June 2017, Yadana natural gas project is producing 650 million cubic feet of natural gas daily and selling 200 million cubic feet of natural gas daily for local use.
